PROPOSED changes to traffic flow in Chepstow have been given the green light by Edwina Hart MP, Minister for Economy Science and Transport.

The plans aim to ease traffic black-spots at Bulwark Road and High Beech roundabout.

Right turns from Bulwark Road onto Hardwick Hill would be stopped with access improvements made to the roundabout at High Beech, reducing congestion problems at both locations.

A Welsh Government spokesperson said: "Following

survey work and a public consultation the Transport Minister has given the go-ahead to develop two options, the prohibition of right turn movements at the Bulwark Junction and improvements to the Highbeech Roundabout.

"We will continue to work with the local council and others to improve air quality and safety on the A48 around Chepstow."

Further plans from a five point survey and public consultation, which involve the A48 at

Chepstow, will be considered in the future

Details of designs and a timetable for completion of work will be announced in due course.
