CALDICOT Foodbank has something to be merry about after receiving a donation of £100.

Asda Caldicot contributed to the foodbank to make sure they are stocked wtih festive foodie treats throughout December.

Caldicot Foodbank representatives visited the store to collect the donation and engage with customers to discuss the help they can provide to the local community.

Asda Caldicot donated an assortment of non-perishable foods to the foodbank, which will be handed out to those in need in the local community to help put a smile on people's faces.

The donation comes just in time for the winter months and busy festive period, ensuring families in crisis who live locally will not unduly struggle this Christmas.

Asda Caldicot's community life champion, Rebecca Hemming, said: "With colder weather setting in and the estive season upon us, we hope the donation will be a welcome addition to the already fantastic help and support the foodbank provides within the local com- munity.

"Christmas is a special time and should be celebrated by everyone so we're doing our bit to make sure everyone does."

David Flint, chair- man of Caldicot Foodbank, said: "We are incredibly grate- ful to Asda Caldicot for supporting us with this donation.

With an increas- ing number of peo- ple falling on hard times and now using the foodbank, dona- tions like this are extremely valued and critical in help- ing us continue our work and Asda's donation will go a long way."
