MADAM,

A big thanks to Monmouth Fire Brigade for such a rapid response to a fire in a lower roof area at the Mayhill Hotel on Sunday afternoon, preventing what could have so easily turned into major destruction after eight years of work being carried out.

Also thanks for the consideration given to keeping the mess inside the buildings minimal. Fantastic job lads.

Thanks also to the passers-by who had the good sense to inform staff of smoke bellowing out of the roof area, saving undoubtably precious time on the fire brigade being called.
