FOUR members of a Wye Valley family have been bailed for pre-sentence reports after being prosecuted for causing unnecessary suffering to a dog.
Robert Murdin, 75, Nicola Murdin, 58, Laurie Murdin, 32, and Matthew Murdin, 22, of Bulwark Road, Bulwark, were taken to court by the RSPCA after inspectors found a black and white collie called Spot emaciated and with large tumours.
The quartet are accused of causing unnecessary suffering by "failing to investigate and address the cause of the animal's poor bodily condition and weight loss and provide veterinary treatment in respect of large tumours invading the dog’s nasal and oral cavities, the latter which had resulted in severe infection".
Gwent magistrates sitting at Newport adjourned the case to Thursday, July 17, for pre-sentence reports.
