Organisers of a popular challenge walk are moving the date to minimize the risk of the event being affected by Covid restrictions.

So the Three Peaks Trial Challenge Walk will again take place in June 2022 rather than the normal March. The date of the event is Saturday June 25 and all four routes will be available, Platinum (17 miles - Bal Mawr, Pen Cerrig Calch and Sugar Loaf), Gold (Blorenge, Sugar Loaf, Skirrid Fawr), Silver (Blorenge and Sugar Loaf) and Bronze (Sugar Loaf only). Further event details are on the event website http://threepeakstrial.co.uk.For those wanting additional adventure the Great Challenge will also return and for 2022 the three mountains are Elidir Fawr (Wales), Skiddaw (England) and entrants can do either Ben Nevis or Merrick (Scotland).Earlier this month a local family were among the people who were awarded medals for completing the Three Peaks Trial Challenge Walk. The awards evening took place on Saturday, November 13. The Wilton family from Monmouthshire - Jon Wilton (47) and daughters Lowri (10) and Rosie (aged nine) received their medals and certificates for completing the Iron Route (Blorenge, Sugar Loaf, Skirrid Fawr, Cader Idris (Wales), Helvellyn (England) and Ben Lomond (Scotland) in which they raised a fantastic £1,050 for St David’s Hospice and Longtown Mountain Rescue.
