MADAM,
I write to thank the Monmouth Co-op store manager and staff for their consideration and kindness last Saturday.
In the store, I explained that the black bag I was carrying contained the broken remains of four wine bottles (with necks stoppers intact,) the cardboard wine carrier I was using having collapsed.
The manager immediately accepted my explanation and, without question, authorised free replacement of four bottles of the same wine, even though I had bought them ‘on offer’.
