THE creative pupils at Monmouth School Girls’ Prep showcased their musical, dancing and poetry talents at a special celebration of Welsh culture last week.
The annual Eisteddfod is always one of the main highlights in their academic year.
The hugely enjoyable event was graced by stunning dance routines as Years 3 to 6 battled it out in their houses to the theme of fire, water, air and earth, respectively.
Clementine Reed was crowned the Bard for her outstanding, dragon-themed poem.
Violinist Joana Anjos triumphed in the Blue Riband competition after her lovely recital was declared the winner by the former Director of Music at Monmouth School for Girls, Mr Mario Conway, pictured right.
Musicians Ellie Walsh, Sophie Williams, Sienna Morgan-Rees, Elin Phillips and Gwennan McConnell-Lawlor all shone with their individual performances.
Pupils representing Imbert Terry were the overall house winner in the competition, with Mather Jackson second and Bagnall Oakeley and Prosser finishing joint third.
