MOTORISTS experienced delays this morning after a tree came down on the B4293 between Trellech and Lydart.

The incident was called in between 7.30am and 8am, and workmen arrived at just past 9am to clear the tree, which came down between the Cwmcarvan turning and the first Monmouth-side Penallt junction.

A yellow wind warning was issued for the whole of Wales yesterday, but was later withdrawn.

Storm Helene’s winds are likely to reach 40mph to 50mph, with top gusts of up to 60mph.

Windy conditions meant there were speed restrictions on Tuesday morning, including on the M4 and the M48 Severn Bridge.

The road has now reopened.
