MADAM,

The influence of volunteering in the community was made very clear at the GAVO Awards evening reported in last week’s Beacon.

It was inspiring to see so many people of all ages giving up their time to such a large number of worthwhile projects.

Knowing how many volunteers have been involved over the last 30 years in building up Bridges to the fantastic community centre it is today, I can only say that since retirement it has been a most rewarding time for me to help within such a friendly atmosphere.

Diverse talents are needed, for fundraising to gardening to trustees etc. So come along you retirees, if you have a little spare time, Bridges will be delighted to welcome you and use your talents!
