GWENT Police have issued 10 tickets in the past two days for illegal parking within the Chepstow town centre.

A number of the £30 FPNs were issued in Upper Nelson Street with the others spread across the centre of town.

Local Inspector Phillip Morris said: “As with every town centre, inconsiderate parking and parking offences cause frustration to road users and visitors to the town, it can also have an impact on the flow of traffic.

“Neighbourhood Officers will continue to focus on the parking issues in the town centres and outside schools over the next few months.  We will be starting another ‘Your Voice’ engagement process in October and parking will probably feature as a priority for some members of the community.”
