CHANGES to Chepstow's electoral ward boundaries will be discussed at the town council's next meeting on 26th February.
As part of Monmouthshire County Council's review of communities and electoral wards, councillors have put together a working group to discuss changes that could be brought in around town.
Councillors have raised concerns that new housing developments will increase some of the five Chepstow wards, and that current ward lines do not sufficiently take into account geographical divides.
Plans to be discussed include splitting Kingsmark ward into two, as its electorate is currently the largest of the five areas. Members of the working group suggest that the patch would become two wards, to be known as Mount Pleasant and Crossway Green.
The current ward of Thornwell will be altered under suggestions, changing boundaries in the Warren Slade area, Burnt Barn Road and the Middle Way Road.
A new ward of Bulwark will be created and the ward of St Christopher's would no longer exist.
The working group have also considered a new ward called Maple Avenue and St Mary's would change to become a new ward called Chepstow Castle.
Councillors will discuss the proposed report at their monthly meeting, held at the Gatehouse, Chepstow, on 26th February at 7pm.
