A MEETING room for community groups in Chepstow is in the pipeline.

Originally a ground floor flat, number 11 Thomas Street is being revamped into a small meeting space, also providing an answer to the need of bus station toilets.

The flat was purchased to provide toilets for Chepstow bus station, following decades of seeking a solution to the lack of public conveniences.

The possibility of Chepstow Foodbank using the space was also considered at Chepstow Town Council last Wednesday (28th February).

Town clerk Sandra Bushell said: "The meeting room is not as large as anticipated but it will still work well as a meeting place for a small group."

An opening date has not yet been set as the council are waiting for CCTV to be installed.
