MORE than £5,000 in grants will be awarded to various Monmouthshire groups.
The grants are provided by the Monmouthshire Welsh Church Fund set up to aid the advancement of education and religion, the relief of poverty, art, libraries and museums and other purposes beneficial to the community.
Successful groups included: Llandogo Village Hall, Bulwark Community Centre, Homemakers Community Recycling, the Best Kept Village Competition, Llangattock Community Choir, Chepstow Needs a Piano group, St Peter's Church, Raglan Parish Church, Tintern Festival Association and Caldicot Events Festival.
Monmouthshire County Council's (MCC) cabinet approved the funding to be made available last Wednesday (15th July).
Applications for the Welsh Church Fund are considered seven times a year and are open to Monmouthshire residents and any organisation operating within the county.
