CALDICOT Male Voice Choir performed at Caerwent Parish Church last Saturday (27th June) to help raise funds for the building restoration.
The choir has sung at this church on many occasions to full houses of some 100 and this was no exception. Conducted by Siân Hatton and Shirley Anne James and accompanied on piano by John Nicholson and Stephen Berry, the choir of about 60 choristers, squeezed into a small space in front of the altar to present the audience with a mixture of well-known songs and Welsh hymns such as Llef, Gwahoddiad and Llanfair and the Welsh song O Gymru (with Tommy Hole as soloist).
There is no doubt that the choir's usual evening of choral and instrumental music provided Caerwent with another night to remember and Caldicot Male Voice Choir looks forward to performing there again.
