Acts were drawn from all five primary schools in Monmouth; The Grange, Inglefield House, Osbaston, Overmonnow, and Kymin View.
Each school submitted two or three acts to compete, with a pianist, flutist, several dance/music groups, a circus act, and a 'rapping granny' duo, hoping to win their individual categories, and the chance of performing at the Monmouth's Got Talent competition which takes place at the Blake Theatre tonight 7pm, Wednesday 11th March
The music category was won by Theo Purkis (The Grange), the dance category by Missy Quinlan and Lotty Jones (Inglefield House), the drama category by the 'Circus Boys' (The Grange), and the dance/music category by the 'Overmonnow Gurlz'. Overall, the runner up act was the 'Rapping Gran' by Logan Woskett-Collins and Daniel Nuttall from Overmonnow School, while the win was taken by the marvellous 'Circus Boys' performance by William Christmas, Archie Christmas, Lysander Myrddin-Evans and Henry Evans from The Grange.
The event was kindly judged by the mayor, Jane Gunter; William Allen (head boy of Monmouth School); Katie Balgarnie (head girl of HMSG); Thea Ward (deputy head girl of Monmouth Comprehensive School); and Emily Pardington (head girl of Monmouth Comprehensive School). The Bridges Youth Committee would like to thank all of the schools, staff and acts for their outstanding participation, the members of the public who generously donated to the Bridges Community Centre, and also the local businesses who very kindly donated raffle prizes for the event.
