CHEPSTOW Radio has ended its spell on FM where it broadcasted from Monday 9th December until Sunday 5th January.

Alex Stanley, co-founder of Chepstow Radio, is optimistic about the radio's future. He said: "The spell on FM was fantastic, and that has just spurred us on to get bigger and better in 2014; we're still in the planning stages, but hopefully we'll have more FM broadcasts and more commercial sponsors to ensure we can continue too.

"Since coming off-air in January listening figures have dropped as you would expect, back to the normal average of 4,300 listeners per month.

"We're in the studio recording adverts for new customers on a weekly basis which is really exciting, we're planning some big events such as the 'Great Chepstow Radio Cake Off' in March and we're looking to expand the team soon. It's a very busy time."
