CHEPSTOW Mencap fundraiser Mark Lloyd has recently completed a marathon walk to raise funds for the well-known local charity.
Mark completed a 250 mile trek, following canal towpaths all the way from Coventry to Bristol, via Oxford and Reading.
He spent most of his nights camping in his tent beside the towpaths, and finally finished his journey beside the SS Great Britain in Bristol, two and a half weeks later.
Friends from Chepstow Mencap and family cheered him through a finishing tape that they took to mark the end of his fundraising journey, which raised more than £2,000 for the charity.
Manager of Chepstow Mencap, Michele Blinman said: “Thank you to all the people who sponsored Mark on our behalf, this money will make such a difference for the people we support. We have cheered Mark on all the way along his journey, and followed his adventure on social media – now he deserves a long rest!”
