ALTHOUGH rain put a dampener on the original scheduling of the Welsh Grand National last month, there was one positive to come out of the cancellation.
The meeting was abandoned in the early hours of the morning meaning the fresh food for the day’s catering had already been delivered.
Thankfully it would not go to waste as the racecourse was able to get in touch with a Chepstow charity and donate what they could.
The charity, which did not want to be named, received five crates of food which included packaged sandwiches and cakes.
