MADAM,
Following the fiasco of the Mitchel Troy junction repairs, I wonder if I am the only one who has also noted the apparently very long time it has taken to construct the new car park on the skatepark site. Contractors appear and disappear with no apparent progress for periods in between.
I have seen far larger car parks constructed at commercial premises in a fraction of the time. I hope that the tax payer is getting value for money and that the protracted project doesn’t reflect an unnecessarily strict specification, lax project oversight by the council or a less than satisfactory performance by the contractor.
If it were the latter then the council should not be picking up any cost overruns and if the former I hope that a post completion review of this project (and the Mitchel Troy project) give some lessons to ensure a better outcome on the next projects, or will it just be business as usual?
