The new owners of Caerwent Post Office are getting set to celebrate their first anniversary of taking on the store.
Sarah Woodfield, pictured, and husband Simon, had lived in the village for eight years before taking on the small shop on 3rd April last year.
"When we took over the tiny premises there was little else besides the post office counter services, but we now stock a varied range of groceries, toiletries, gifts, cards and tourist souvenirs," said Sarah.
"It's basically a new lease of life for a sleepy village three miles from the nearest shop. The locals are loving it and have been so supportive.
"It's my first venture but it's something I've always wanted to do."
To mark the anniversary, mother-of-three Sarah has a host of activities planned to bring the village together.
A magpie challenge has been organised for all local children to take part in over the Easter holidays – collecting listed items such as buttons and feathers in a bid to win the main prize.
The post office will also be hosting a coffee, champagne and Pimms day on 3rd April under its popular red canopy in front of the store. Residents and visitors are invited along to sample the latest stock, the new addition of cakes, and to chat with one-another.
The line-dancing teacher has organised an art exhibition for Sunday 6th April between 1 and 4pm in Caerwent Village Hall.
The day, free to enter, will feature work from local artists including Deborah Hudson, Bridget Evans, John Peach, Andy Watson, Georgia Boon, Robert Jones and Barbara Davies. Also present will be children's author and illustrator Rachel Austin.
