CAERWENT Village Show celebrated its 40th anniversary last weekend (29th August), with up to 2,500 people attending. The annual event, organised and hosted by The Caerwent Playing Fields Association, was held at Caerwent playing fields, and is deemed Wales’ largest free show.
The sun shone all day, and the attractions included a flower and vegetable competition, over 50 food and goods stalls, a bouncy castle, and a visit by the Power House Dance Group.
Live music was performed throughout the day by local bands such as The Bug Club, Undercover, Big Sky, Fingertrap and more.
Ian Williams, Vice Chairman of the Caerwent Playing Fields Association, had this to say:
“It was fantastic to see the community come together and see everyone enjoying themselves. The show would not be possible without the hard work of those involved with the CPFA, or the massive help from volunteers in the community. Feedback has been nothing but positive, and we are all looking forward to Caerwent Show 2016!”
Proceeds from the show are to be put towards extending the village hall.
