A MONMOUTHSHIRE travel agent has been crowned the best travel agent in the south west and Wales.

Miles Morgan Travel won the award at a ceremony recently, with the award following previous successes for the company in the past few years. The annual award is voted for by holiday companies, airlines and tourist boards and recognises the professionalism, marketing and sales produced by travel agencies.

Started in 2006, Miles Morgan Travel has 14 shops throughout the West Country and Wales and specialises in faraway, tailor made and cruise holidays. The company has grown a lot over the 10 years and is seeing large numbers of clients return from booking previously on the internet.

Managing Director Miles Morgan said: “I could not be prouder to receive this award. We have 14 shops and to beat ones with almost 100 is an amazing achievement. My staff do a fantastic job and to see their efforts rewarded with this prestigious award is wonderful. “Our independent customer service results currently show us giving over 99 per cent of our customers, good or excellent service so we know we are doing a great job looking after our customers. This award shows the esteem we are held in by our supplier partners, this is a real honor.”

He added: “It has been fascinating to see the change in customers booking on the internet, the financial protection, our very competitive prices and friendly expert advice is certainly bringing people back.”
