SOUTH Wales Police were called to the Porthcawl area in connection to a missing Beachley resident after the discovery of body on Friday evening.

Edward ‘Eddie’ Wise, aged 74 was last seen on Monday 18th July. Police had narrowed their search to the Merthyr Mawr area after his car was found on Sunday 31st July.

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Merthyr Mawr sandunes/ Newton Beach area of Porthcawl at 5.18pm on Friday 16th September following the discovery of a body.

“Recovery has taken place and enquiries are ongoing to identify the body.

“Officers have informed the family of 74-year-old Eddie Wise who has been missing from Chepstow since 18th July.”Related coverage
