THE first ever Cwrwfest festival was held in the grounds of Chepstow Castle over the Easter weekend.

The event proved to be the ultimate celebration of Welsh beer and welcomed lovers of the tipple to the festival.

The pop-up bars in the heated marquee served inspired selections from three of the country’s inventive breweries: Celt Experience, Mad Dog and Crafty Devil.

Beer lovers were able to tour the ales of Wales by sampling the diverse range at the cask table.

Food stalls were also available throughout the two-day event held on Good Friday and Saturday.

Visitors were also able to enjoy live music from 6pm.

Volunteer at the festival, Samantha Mendez, said: “It has been a fantastic two days in Chepstow Castle.

“I have volunteered at a few beer festivals in Wales but this festival has to be the best setting.

“Great beers and a really good crowd of people. I hope to see it again next year.”

The festival was concluded with a performance from the band The White Comets.
