THE senior residents of Devauden were invited to an evening with the 1st Shirenewton beavers on the evening of Wednesday 8th November, in aid of Children in Need.
The beavers were working towards their collectors badge, and had set up displays of various collections from geology, wildlife, trains, coins, African animals and Beano comics, some of which had been passed down through three generations.
The senior residents were not only delighted to hear all about the youngsters’ interests, but were able to share stories and experiences of their own, related to the various collection topics displayed. Those attending said it was tremendous to see the two generations engaging so enthusiastically.
During the evening, home made refreshments were on sale to raise funds for this year’s Children in Need.
