RSPCA Cymru was alerted after the badger fell some five feet down a concrete pit - usually used for military personnel to fire from - at the Rogiet Moor Range, on Tuesday (7th August).
The alarm was sounded by the warden for the military firing range, who has been thanked by the RSPCA.
An officer from the animal welfare charity attended, and was able to reach the badger with a grasper, before releasing him to the wild at a nearby safe location.
Fortunately the badger has no injuries or welfare problems, and RSPCA Cymru say they are "delighted" with the "happy ending".
RSPCA animal collection officer Gary Lucas said: "This was a pretty unique rescue - with this badger having fallen down a pit at a military live firing range!
"Luckily, the animal was very co-operative and I was able to reach him with a grasper and bring him to safety.
"We’re really grateful to the range warden, who spotted the badger’s plight and got in touch. We’re delighted with what turned out to be a very happy ending.
"The badger had no injuries and was absolutely fine, despite the ordeal. He was quickly returned to where he belongs - back in the wild."
