THE Usk Community Awards were held at Sessions House on Sunday 10th May.

The event was well attended and followed a Thanksgiving Mass held at St Francis Xavier and St David Lewis Catholic Church, Usk.

Monmouth Assembly Member Nick Ramsey attended the award presentation ceremony which looks to recognise the efforts of local residents in the community.

Speaking after the event, he said: "I would like to thank the Mayor and Mayoress of Usk, Councillor and Mrs Roger Galletley for inviting me to the Mass and presentation of community awards on Sunday.

"It was a pleasure to meet the award winners and to congratulate them personally on their achievements.

"Special congratulations to Colin Jones on receiving his award for services to Usk town football and for his 31 years as a retained fire-fighter."
