ARRIVA Trains Wales (ATW) drivers are to strike for the second time this year.

Drivers for ATW striked for 24 hours on 4th January as a result of pay disputes and working conditions, and now it has been announced that drivers will strike again on 1st February. The pay dispute has now been settled.

Rail drivers union ASLEF previously claimed that ATW had “shifted the goalposts” on previous agreements.

ASLEF announced the strike last week, stating that Arriva had failed to offer a “satisfactory response” after discussions. A statement read: “In the light of Arriva Trains Wales’ failure to offer a satisfactory resolution to the long and ongoing dispute with its drivers, our members will withdraw their labour for 24 hours on Monday 1st February.”
