MADAM,

For goodness sake what next? Is it not hard enough for traders in the town to make a living as it is, yet still another cross for them to bare, with council proposals to introduce signage charges and chair charges?

Naturally we should all have consideration for pedestrians and of course wheelchair users not to impede any access. This is not the issue. It is just another way to burden the local traders with more expense over simple signs advertising their wares.

It is so nice to see people sitting outside enjoying a cup of coffee in the sun, just as they do on the continent. This action alone encourages others to join and create more revenue for the traders.

Boarded up windows from closed shops is not the way forward for our lovely town, so give our traders a break and don’t make it any harder for them by introducing any more charges.
