MONMOUTH Assembly Member Nick Ramsay attended Usk in Bloom’s annual awards evening held at Glen yr Afon Hotel this week.

Usk won the Wales in Bloom large village category for the 34th time in succession and celebrated another highly successful year.

Speaking after the event Nick said: “It was great to be able to attend another busy awards night at the packed Glen yr Afon Hotel. Usk in Bloom has worked very hard again this year, and I was very pleased that both the First Minister and the Secretary of State for Wales visited the town in 2015 to support all the hard work of the volunteers.

“I was particularly interested to see photographs of Twyn Square in 1980 and to compare this with Usk today. The image of the town really has been lifted due to hard work of all the volunteers over the years.

“Keep up the good work!”
