To mark the centenary of the First World War, Monmouthshire County Council has announced a special memorial concert being held in Caldicot Castle. The night on Saturday 8th November, will include performances from the Military Wives Choir, Caldicot Male Voice Choir and Wynne Evans. For one-night only, the evening before Remembrance Sunday, audiences will be treated to a memorable and entertaining showcase that will pay homage to our fallen soldiers; honour those who have served our country; and show appreciation to those who are currently serving in the field. The concert will support two charities: The Welsh Warrior Foundation and The Royal British Legion which contribute vital support and commemoration to our servicemen and women and their families. The breathtaking venue of Caldicot Castle, steeped in history, will provide a spectacular backdrop for the night of remembrance. The concert, for an exclusive audience of 1,500, will be undercover and set inside the castle grounds. The evening will be hosted by Welshman Wynne Evans – one of the UK's leading tenors and recently known as Gio Compario in the unforgettable Go Compare adverts. Audiences will then enjoy special performances from The Military Wives Choir – best known for their number one single 'Wherever You Are' – and Caldicot Male Voice Choir, pictured below. Mark Stocker, Chairman of Caldicot Male Voice Choir, said: "Caldicot Male Voice Choir is extremely proud to participate in the remembrance concert at Caldicot Castle on 8th. To be invited to share the stage with the Military Wives Choir and Wynne Evans, to sing for an extremely worthy cause in the fabulous setting of Caldicot Castle, is considered an honour and a privilege by all of us in the choir." Tickets are £20 and include entry, champagne arrival and a hog roast. Tickets can be purchased from Caldicot Leisure Centre, Caldicot Library, The Castle Inn or online at http://www.rememberingthem">www.rememberingthem. co.uk.
