MADAM,

Flyover? Old Railway Bridge? These are only very much in the future solutions. There appears to be no money with which to repair the roads so what hope of millions for such schemes?

I do however, favour the use of the old railway line and bridge. It would be a much better use of the land at Troy Gardens, than yet more housing which only adds to the traffic congestion. However, there would need to be a lower speed limit to avoid yet more traffic noise and one has to consider that it isn’t ‘only farmland that would be affected’.

This farmland is someone’s livelihood and a wonderful open green space.

In the immediate short term I suggest a much less expensive, achievable and common sense solution, at least as a trial.

Traffic approaching the Dixton Road roundabout from Ross is forcibly filtered into the correct lane, ensuring that all traffic wishing to turn left over the Wye Bridge continues to run more smoothly and the remainder continue straight on.

I also suggest that in order to protect the Wye Bridge from the weight of standing traffic and pedestrians from fumes, that perhaps some thought is given to traffic lights further back towards the mini roundabout, essentially making the bridge a little safer for pedestrians and itself.
