HOMEOWNERS in Chepstow are being warned to not “make it easy” for burglars after a spate of crimes saw two further burglaries this week.

Gwent Police are appealing for information after the fourth burglary in a month occurred near Bulwark.

The two latest burglaries occurred sometime overnight between 30th December and 31st December. Both involved access being gained through downstairs windows.

One incident was along St Ewens Road, while the other took place along Pembroke Road.

These recent crimes come after cash and electrical items were taken in two other burglaries last month.

Overnight between Sunday 4th December and Monday 5th December, two houses were burgled in the area, one in Preston Close and the other in Bishops Close.

A spokesperson from Gwent Police said: “We would like to urge residents to always lock windows and doors and don’t ever think that a burglar won’t target you.

“Thieves will take any chance they can, don’t make it easy for them.

“If you see a burglary taking place, please ring 999 or if you see any suspicious activity you can always ring 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Anyone who has any information regarding either of the latest incidents should call 101 quoting log 116 31/12/16 for the St Ewens Road incident or log 286 31/12/16 for the Pembroke Road incident.
