NATURAL Resources Wales (NWR) has issued flood alerts for Chepstow, Tintern and up to Redbrook ahead of the high tide expected after 10pm tonight.

The warning has been issued from the opening of the River Wye all the way up to Redbrook.

With high tide reaching 7.2m this morning in Newport Natural Resources Wales have updated their warning with the water level expected to rise further.

According to Natural Resources Wales’ latest update high tide at Newport is expected to reach 7.3 metres at 10:00pm tonight.

Due to the predicted levels for the next high tides, this alert will remain in force until at least Monday evening’s High Tide.

High tide at Chepstow will be 25 minutes later, and, at Tintern, 45 minutes later than at Newport.
