UPDATE 5th October: TUTSHILL woman Miranda Raine, 52, who was reported missing yesterday (4th October) has been found safe and well.

A spokesperson from Gloucestershire Constabulary thanked those who shared the appeal and said the force was “pleased to report” she had been located.

Miranda’s brother-in-law Guy Greening added: “Miranda is safe and hopefully getting the help she so desperately requires.”

THE emergency services joined forces in Chepstow this morning (4th October) to search the River Wye for a missing women.

Gloucestershire Police led the search for 52-year-old Miranda Raine, with the help of the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), after reports of a woman approaching the banks of the river early this morning.

The coastguard helicopter was deployed from St Athan near Cowbridge to help with the search, which began at around 6am. SARA lifeboats searched the river and there was a police presence at Wyebank Road in Sedbury, where the woman was reportedly seen heading towards the shoreline, for several hours.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “We are concerned for the welfare of a woman who has been reported missing from Tutshill, Chepstow.

“Miranda Raine, age 52, is believed to have been seen in the Wyebank Road area at around 5.30am this morning. She is around 5ft 3 inches tall and of a large build.

“When last seen, she was wearing dark clothing with a checked poncho.

“A search involving police officers, members of the Severn Area Rescue Service (SARA), the Coastguard and the National Police Air Service (NPAS) is underway. 

“If you see Miranda or know of her whereabouts, please call 101 quoting incident number 37 of 4th October.”
