GWENT Police is appealing for information after a sexual assault was reported in the early hours of Sunday morning (19th July).

It’s believed the incident took place in the vicinity of the bus station in Chepstow between 1.30am and 3am.

Officers are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the area of the bus station or the Co-op store at that time.

Potential witnesses may have seen a man, described as white and wearing a white shirt, walking with a young woman and may have noticed something unusual about their behaviour or conversation.

The 28 year old female victim is being supported by specially trained officers at this time.
