AN AIR ambulance landed in Chepstow today after a patient needed blood.

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) was called to Chepstow at 11.55am to reports of a patient needing blood, landing at the rugby club.

A spokesperson from GWAAC confirmed the charity’s critical care doctor and critical care paramedic treated the patient at the scene, giving pre-hospital blood transfusions. The patient was then taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance.
