AN exhibition featuring more than 100 quilts and patchwork pieces was held at Monmouth’s Shire Hall on Friday 31st July.

Organised by Dawn Harrington from Cotton Angel, the exhibition featured works large and small from eight years worth of workshops and quilting evenings.

The shop runs regular events, aimed at beginners to the world of patchwork and quilting, and teaches them how to create their own work with the help of professional tutors.

Dawn said: “I wanted to put this together for people to see what you can do with fabric.

“Most of the work that gets made isn’t kept on show but just stored in people’s homes, which I thought was a shame.

“As soon as the idea of this exhibition was mentioned, everybody has got fully behind it and been enthusiastic.”

There are about 60 people in all who have contributed to the exhibition, creating items from full-sized quilts to patchwork Christmas crackers.
