Police warning follows spate of thefts from vehicles

GWENT Police has asked residents to be extra vigilant after a series of thefts from vehicles in Undy occurred this week.

Four unattended vehicles were broken into between Wednesday, 19th April and Thursday, 20th April.

A vehicle parked on Barons Court, Undy was broken into sometime between 6pm on Wednesday 19th April and 1.15pm.

Items taken include a blue Apple iPod Nano and two pairs of children’s sunglasses.

The incident number for this is 225 20/04/17

A Silver Mondeo parked in Apple Avenue, Undy was broken into sometime between 7pm on Wednesday 19th April and 6.30am on Thursday 20th April.

Taken from this car was a Severn bridge TAG, a locking wheel nut, a large black Adidas gym bag and bright blue Adidas trainers with yellow stripes.

The incident number for this is 86 20/04/17.

A small white caddy VW van parked on Badgers Walk, Undy was broken into sometime between 3pm on Wednesday 19th April and 8.30am on Thursday 20th April.

A coat, satellite navigation system and a tool bag containing hand tools were taken.

The incident number for this is 76 20/04/17.

A vehicle parked on Teal Close, Undy was broken into sometime between 10pm on Wednesday 19th April and 7am on Thursday 20th April.

A HP laptop and £3.00 in loose change was taken.

The incident number for this is 72 20/04/2017.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Motorists are being urged to ensure that whenever they leave their vehicle unattended it is secure and no items are left on view.

“A crime can happen in seconds, please don’t make it easy for thieves by leaving tempting valuables on display.

“If you see anyone acting suspicious or loitering in the areas affected please call call 101”

Anyone with information on the four incidents should call police on 101 and quote the relevant incident number.
