GWENT Police has issued a warning to those parking in the Monmouth town centre after receiving a number of complaints.

Officers urged all residents and visitors to the area to be aware of the issue of responsible parking.

Local Police Constable Chris Butt said: “We are monitoring parking obstructions, in particular on Priory Street, Agincourt Square and the Town Arch.

“We have also received complaints of inconsiderate parking and overstaying offences in town loading bays.

“We will be checking these areas daily and obvious, deliberate offences will be dealt with robustly.

“Please park responsibly and take into consideration the time limit placed upon parking bays.

“If you have any concerns or questions, then please contact your local team on 101 or via the Gwent Police website.”
